No matter how tough your feet, you definitely wouldn't be able to walk on the sand/path in the south of Turkey (Antalya) in the summer.
It was 50 degrees C when we were there one year, so goodness knows what the temperature of the ground was.

All I know is it was too bloody hot to walk on

It is, but I object to the premise of a 'barefoot day' organised by a shoe manufacturer under the auspices of how dreadful it is to not have shoes.

I use to love running around barefeet when it was raining (count 25 years back when I was 16 and not thinking about who had to wash the floors (or feet) after )...

The rain puddles seem so much warmer when it rains ... as does the water in a lake if you're bathing while raining

... although a whole day barefoot at a country park does have one very obvious side-effect: seriously grubby feet!
