What do you do when it's freezing outside?? If I get into this... that might be a bit of a problem for me (got very bad circulation problems in hands and feet - I have Raynaud's)

That's quite simple to answer actually. If it's cold enough that you need gloves, you need something on your feet too. I don't go in for 'extreme' barefooting - I walk barefoot for pleasure, not to prove my imperviousness to pain or cold.

Anyway, for days like today when it's not especially warm but also not freezing, going barefoot is quite reasonae provided that you keep you core warm. Remember that your blood is circulating at an enormous rate, and if your core is sufficiently insulated then your feet will be constantly bathed in freshly warmed blood.

As for your Raynaud's, I could not advise you to go barefoot in genuinely freezing temperatures, but then again, doing so is not particularly pleasurable anyway. However, walking unshod forces the mechanics of your feet to operate properly, which serves to improve circulation, so you could even look at it as a health benefit.

Might save in shoe costs too lol... I have congenital talipes and my feet are a bit deformed because the biomechanics of my legs are screwed up (I'm sure you don't really want to know that but it's just the truth), which makes shoes difficult to find, expensive and painful to wear. I'd rather not have to wear shoes at all for that reason, but the Raynaud's is a bit of a problem.

If the temperature is above freezing (and is not burning hot) you can't damage your feet from that, so maybe just give it a whirl and see how you find it. Remember, being barefoot is our natural state - you don't find people feeling the need to wear gloves all the time, we put on gloves when conditions mandate them. Shoes are really no different :)
