Lack of interest Associate Conversation Created With Warning With The Warning

Right now, when you warn someone and include a conversation with the warning, there is no way to associate that conversation with that warning you issued. It would be nice if you could add a field to the warning table so that the conversation id it is associated with is registered.

Just logging the conversation ID isn't going to do anything, so is there a further end goal?

There is an add-on the currently creates a thread for each warning issued. We would like to have the contents of the conversation sent with the warning as part of the thread.

@AndyB doesn't want to include the feature in his add-on though and suggests moderators copy and paste the conversation details into the thread his add-on creates; which is fair enough, but since the conversation text is created during the warning process it doesn't seem like a big leap to include that same text in the warning report thread.

TBH it would be great if this (reporting warnings as threads into your moderator forum) was included in the core as the current system of having warnings managed on the user profile page doesn't help a group of moderators to see how many times (and for what) a user has been warned. An invaluable feature for large / busy boards.

What we've been doing is reporting the conversation to include (merge) with the reported content thread. It's a pain, it's creating extra work, but due to the way we document processes and keep tabs on who's been naughty, we have no choice. Add a prefix and we have our "rule reminders". Having the ability to have that "automagically" get sent to the moderator's forum would cut down a lot on that particular work load.
