Articles and Xenforo and WordPress

Hello,

My forum with Xenforo is already a few years old.
Now I would like to write articles. Start with news. Maybe a knowledge base at some point. Maybe I'll be lucky and something will end up on Google News.

But I want to have a good system right from the start. Visually like an article, the necessary meta tags, URL structure, schema and so on.

Preferably all via Xenforo. Keep it simple but effective. 1 system, easy maintenance.
Everyone uses an external CMS or their own development.
That's why I'm also leaning towards Wordpress.

It's good if Xenforo focusses on the forum.
Example: Separate time limit between deleting and editing. :=)

Where is the journey with XF articles heading?
What is your view on this? XF or CMS?

Greetings!

I've worked on building up a knowledge base for a forum before. There are two ways to go about it:
  • You can create a knowledge base directly on the forum itself. This was called "The Newbie Guide Section" on the previous forum I worked on. It did seem to cut down on the number of support tickets we were receiving.
  • The other option is to set something up using a platform like FreshDesk. You can create a support subdomain for your forum and integrate FreshDesk with your domain that way.
You can also do both, just bear in mind that it's more work.

As for posting articles, I think there's a node option specifically for articles in base Xenforo, but I've never used it myself.

Linking to a separate WordPress site as you mentioned isn't a bad idea since the platform is geared toward blogging. But I agree with you that it's generally better to keep things on one platform.
