It is sad to see how so many people get tricked into buying overpriced things which they don't really need. Consumption, consumption, consumption.
iPhone and iPad sales up 125%, iMac and macbook also climbing, especially with the introduction of the Mac App store, bringing mobile mac users to Mac systems.
Global experts anticipate Mac sales record increase solely based on Apples introduction of the Mac store.
Apple only actually owns the MP3 player market, Android holds dominance in smartphones, and Windows is still king for desktop/laptop/netbook.You know the only reason Apples market share is as high as it is is because of the iphone being such a great success and having next to no competition untill recent smartphones and android have finally caught up. It would not surprise me if in the next few years that we expect the apple dominance to decrease once the masses realise how good the other options are.
sales up 125% is a worthless figure. I can say my company sales are up 1600% in the last quarter if I look at it in the same way. A more accurate representation would be how much market share have they gained.
Likewise, "kicking the crap out of pc's", With an estimated 410 million PC's to be sold this year, and apples figures showing aproximately 4million per quarter.. that leaves them with a 4% market share. Not quite so impressive anymore is it?

I've never once said that Apple has a shoddy OS, only that they over price their hardware that has nothing over the same hardware used in a PC.
To lazy to quote AnthonyWhat? why are you quoting me?
I read recently that while Apple only has a little over 6% share of the personal computer market, in the over $1000 market they have an 80% share. Everyone else is fighting over the scraps (low or no margin). Why would Apple want that part? Even H-P through in the towel. Dose anyone still make net-books?Windows is still king for desktop/laptop/netbook.

People are fond of comparing Apple to all other computer maker combined!
I don't think so. You're comparing the iPhone to other phones and that misses the point entirely. I have an iPhone, an iPad, an iMac, macTV and an Airbook. They are all the same portal into my electric data space. Documents on my computer are on my laptop, my tablet and my phone, simultaneous. With iOS5 and iTunes Match (both beta), my music and videos are on my computer, laptop, iPad, iPhone and television. You know the only reason Apples market share is as high as it is is because of the iphone being such a great success and having next to no competition untill recent smartphones and android have finally caught up. Feel free mate...No kidding
May I send you a PM? I've got some questions that I've been trying to get answered regarding macs.
Actually, they haven't caught up at all... you are in serious delusions if you think they have. Others are chasing Apple, not Apple chasing others. You don't gain and hold dominance by chasing the other players after the fact. You know the only reason Apples market share is as high as it is is because of the iphone being such a great success and having next to no competition untill recent smartphones and android have finally caught up.
What real questions?I 'm really surprised at you anthony. Not once have I seen you reply directly to a question and explain why you obviously think maccys (apple) are a better product than pcs.
You can send me one and I'll try my best.No kidding

I have had Macs my entire life, and love them. I love the OS, and the hardware has done our family well for a very long time. My gripes with PCs are the issues I personally have when I use them. I am anti-windows because I find the whole system awkward and un-userfriendly. I never claim (not in a joke) that Macs / Mac OS X are superior use because I'm an "Apple Fan Boy." I'm one, I admit it. But I'm not fan-boy enough to completely ignore reason and see where PCs are better than Macs. That is a standard typical apple fanatic's response. Either that or someone's maccy went on autopilot, became self aware and can now post glowing responses on forum software. Sorry anthony but if you had this many issues and i would say this to anyone chances are it's not computer/hardware error it'll be human error. That said, I personally don't believe you myself when you say you had all these problems, i think you've obviously been touched by the apple emblem, joined the apple brigade and that cloud of hatred has formed around you, I know in some countries there is another name for it. Stigmata.![]()
Feel free mate...
I finally decided to watch the videos on the mac / apple site, which gave me enough information to speak 'mac' enough to communicate things to the apple store employees, so I am a bit farther along than I was. Perhaps I will start a thread where everyone can give inputYou can send me one and I'll try my best.I have owned Macs all my life.
The price argument is for desktops and laptop.Tomorrow I'm going to buy my grandson an Ipad. He's already got his dad's Iphone figured out. I made his mom and dad swear to not "show" him anything except the on/off switch! Just let him discover everything on his own. You can do that with an Apple device!
How come I can't find anything cheaper than the "overpriced" Ipad?
