We don’t have a public repo but we’re happy to review third party code and consider it for inclusion in the core.
It could either be by way of a diff from your own development repo or even an add-on that we could incorporate into the core code ourselves.
Though we wouldn’t necessarily guarantee that we wouldn’t want to make changes, nor might we be able to guarantee inclusion for a particular release. Implementing something new right now wouldn’t be ideal, for example, as XF 2.3 is pretty much feature locked as it is.

I already made a pretty fancy one (although it's not public anywhere yet). You just create marketplace nodes and pick from various types of marketplaces (similar to how you can have types of forums... like Questions, Suggestions or Articles).

Lets you set it up so users can offer their own things to be paid directly to them via PayPal and then you take a percentage cut. Or you can run it without taking a cut to sell your own things (you can't manage PayPal subscriptions for merchant users), so running it standalone gives you some flexibility with subscriptions (for example starting a subscription years in the future). I completely understand that you do not have a "public" repo. To break it down from a business perspective - hire him as a contractor (1099 - or similar to Brogan - I don't know the agreement there). Pay him a minimal salary, "knowing" @digitalpoint he could care less about the $$ he's here because he enjoys the framework and truly wants to help it grow.
Im sure he would "donate" his salary back to XF one way or another (license purchases).
You could then maybe spend more time "reviewing" code and integrating or whatever the agreement is. I genuinely believe this would be a huge benefit for us all.
I could also see similar arrangements with @Russ @Steve F @Dad. in regards to UI/UX - themes. Kier and you could spend more time "reviewing".
Just imagine implementing some of the resources, research, and designs from these guys mentioned above.

Nice, I was thinking along these lines that something like this would be useful to do. Taking advantage of innovation in this way can lead to a much better product.
Glad to see that 2.3 is feature locked as that tells me it's approaching release soon(tm).
I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah it just means they know what features they want to include in the release. Hell some projects even do this prior to starting development to avoid any scope creep. It means pretty much nothing in terms of release.
But obviously some people will find that info "pretty useful" lol

I can’t find any reason why XF devs should care about us.
This thread is the best example as well as the lack of positive feedback from them. I mean, you shouldn’t have to suggest such simple approach, that means we are doing all the homework because they just simply don’t care.
