Any sort of roadmap for Xenforo 2.3 ?

I can tell you with 99% certainty it'll be a Tuesday.

That 1% will get you every time...we haven't even seen any HYS threads yet!

EDIT: Oh, wait, you said "A" Tuesday. I read it as, like, tomorrow. Yeah, in that case, you're probably right... :ROFLMAO: ...maybe I need to go back to bed. 🤦‍♂️

I really hope the previous developer comments within this thread were not just hot air.

I will continue to be patient, but it becomes harder each time a comment is made and not followed through with.

I know it is super unlikely that this will be answered, but... Are we talking weeks until HYS or months?

I remember developers being discussed earlier in this thread. It looks like we lost another popular developer, 021. More details can be found on his profile. I wonder who’s next to jump ship?

Saw that. Had a read too.
Doesn't help when he was exploding at the staff here.
But anyway here we are. We're in a era when things get removed without any notification.
It reminds me of some people on my own forum who need this done to them. But with reasons why.

Not surprised :). Don't blame him. I believe he made the right decision.

I've had stuff like that moderated before, including in the same thread, but would not keep going back and reinsert what I was moderated for. That's basically giving them middle finger, so the end result is his own fault.

Then essentially abandoning his paying customers without notice for something they didn't do is petty, and loses him the high road.

From what he's said, he is not abandoning them, but no longer doing further development outside of bug fixes and ensuring it continues to work with 2.2, and possibly 2.3.

While there should have been better communication (I only know what was shared by him), this is a tantrum plain and simple. Everything done is to raise as big a stink for dramatization as possible (while he is still lurking and responding) and trying to portray himself as a victim and gain sympathy.

Sucks that a developer is leaving, but I personally don't use their work because of the way they've acted 🤷‍♂️.

Not active here anymore, so not sure what happened to be honest. I even tried to search for hist post, seems all of them were deleted.

Since I'm a XenForo customer, there are lot of developers and members left XF for a reason or another.

Probably there's no future for XenForo...

Okay, that's better to know. But it still very much a reaction of bird crapping in it's nest.

I don't know how he's acted historically, but I will say I had a post moved in the same topic he's complaining about. I asked what happened, found out and felt "oh, no big deal" and moved on. You're 100% right from what I can see... it's a trantrum!

When somebody does explode at staff members that's when you know that something is not right. It's what this dude did.
Saw that he had a go at Brogan for cleaning up a thread in the off topic board because people were derailing it.
When stuff like that happens it's not worth doing anything about. You can write up a negative review about the site if you don't like what you see. Or you can put up with the staff members and their rules. Some of them know that they should be communicating and legitimately try to. Some of them actually give you a small heads up if something of yours is showing that they're seeing.
When i first saw the thread about xenforo 2.3 in the off topic board i thought it might be a good idea to take a look at it.
Of course i didn't get some of the reading between the line jokes in the whole thread. Some of them i still don't get and don't find funny.
The same thing would be said if i repeated some fart gag which wouldn't be funny to you.
You have to learn to adjust accordingly to every situation.

By your logic, no platform ever has any future because this is extremely common.

WoltLab alienated the whole international community midway through Burning Board 2, and they've somehow managed to keep afloat even though they were arguably (and still are in my opinion) the worst of the major platforms.

Invision has had some of the worst business communication and treatment of their customers historically, and they have lost many of their designers when moving between v2, v3 and v4... But they're still afloat.

vBulletin, who has literally had some of the worst decisions made by a forum platform, still manages to stay afloat.

I get that you feel personally insulted by XenForo for some reason, but at least be realistic and honest.

Yeah, I will sometimes get posts removed or deleted, and if I actually have an issue with it, I will contact staff for clarity. I honestly do not see why certain people feel it is needed to make a very public break up with XenForo, when at the end of the day most people are going to be forgotten in a week at the most. Or any platform for that matter.

Being realistic is that XenForo are misleading their customers for couple of years, being honest, not worth my time ( poor communication).
Poor (or lack of) communication is not misleading customers, it is poor project planning/management. Kier made a mistake in giving a deadline when he did, and there have been further mistakes made by delaying release further (even if it may be justified).

Misleading implies purposeful intent to lie or deceive customers, whereas the most you can say is that XenForo underestimated the remaining workload 🙃.

As far as actually misleading customers, IPB is the only company that comes to mind with the perpetual license, or their justification for some of the more recent business decisions they've made.

But you do you 🤷‍♂️. If XenForo truly was not worth your time you'd not visit or care, but clearly you continue to spout grievances and kick your feet.

If you've had issues with staff here, my suggestion is to migrate your existing forum to some where else.
But, be aware of those members who may have fallen in love with this software.
Maybe sell your license to someone else who loves the software.
Don't lose your mind and explode at the staff.
I know and fully understand why you're upset here.
Just don't act silly about it.
