XF 2.1 Amazon short links don't unfurl

I'm not sure if this is a timeout situation or what I can do to resolve this but it seems like short links such as on amazon.com don't unfurl most of the time. I don't know if it's because they have a redirect from short link to unshortened link in the path or what. Any tips on improving unfurling?

i have been having same issues. i tried a bunch of links here in this thread and they work fine. but on my forum they result in bare url or robot check text.

i can only imagine that my server ip is hitting some kind of anti-bot system on their servers. i am on cloudflare but so does this community. i am guessing there is very little that can be done to fix this if your server IP is being blocked from getting curl data?
