Adsense CTR cut in half after switching to SSL

Not sure that argument would be logical... The less they pay out, the less they are making. If they really wanted to pay less, they could kiss shut down AdSense program.

The less they pay out, the less they are making.
Because they give out a fixed percentage ?
You would know better than I would.

The answer isn't money, it's laziness or stupidity.
Those are the top 3 answers to everything.

The GOOG probably will fix it if their revenue is down.
I'd probably just wait I guess.

Yep... Google pays AdSense publishers 68% of the revenue, so it's a 32%/68% split. But yeah... The more you make, the more Google makes.

Hi,

Sorry about for bumping this post, but we are now in 2016 and google is "inviting" us to move to ssl and http2.
So what are you experiences now? Can you share your histories?

Thanks

I'm not really sure - it's hard to make a direct comparison as I have added other networks and direct advertisers since moving to SSL.

However, here's a look at my AdSense "Page RPM" (in purple) vs. "Impression RPM" (in green/blue) over the past two years, by month. I switched to SSL in February of 2015, where you'll notice a significant change in each.

This means I'm making more per ad banner, but less per page.

I'm about to make the big switch myself. It's all about the pagerank boost! Maybe? We'll see :)

Thanks for sharing this! As long as your impression RPM is going the right direction, the page RPM drop must simply be a result of showing fewer adsense ads per page (as you said, other networks and direct advertisers), right?
