Ads Manager 2 Lite by Siropu

Ads Manager 2 Lite by Siropu [Paid] 1.3.3

No permission to buy (€29.99)
You can create a page node and add a new position on that page. Then select that position for the ads that you want to appear there.
Just build out the ads as HTML ads? And insert all ads to display in that position? How would the layout get built so that they get displayed as a grid that adjusts based on different screen sizes?

is anyone using this feature?

"Added package option to display ads in XF's post layout, when using thread view, conversation view or member view positions, where you can set an avatar, username and a title."

unable to even find this option.

The option shows up in the package settings when you select one of the "below post container" positions.
Thank you. Works great in conversation containers but cant get it to show on thread view containers. Is that a known issue?

Tested on default style too - same problem - just doesnt show. Running ads manager lite 1.2.14, xf 2.2.16

Ignore - it works if i remove a thread_view template mod i have. Ill sort that out.

Thank you :)

I see, my screenshot is from a XF 2.2 installation (ads manager lite 1.2.11).

Any chance to get this function back?
o.k. then it was maybe already removed in a later 2.2.x version - I looked at a 2.2.13 installation. ;)

sorry, forget that nonsense, I should not have stayed up watching the US elections on TV... 🤯

2.2.5 was my version. Now: 2.3.4
yeah makes sense. It seems it was removed in XF 2.3. Another installation with XF 2.2.16 still has that functionaltity.

User criteria and page criteria are parts of XF core, that can be extended. You can add such a functionality with an add-on and then it is available everywhere, where page criteria are used (e.g. "notices" use page criteria too). You can look into the Resources here on XF.com, if someone has built such a small add-on, or otherwise ask someone to code it.

But, reading the "deprecated" notice, I don't know if that really makes sense.. 🤔

All ads missing (not displaying) for any user or guest after an upgrade of XF on any theme including default
XF 2.3.4 PHP 8.3.14
Steps I took:
  • Disable all addons
  • Revert to XF default theme
  • Upgrade XF 2.2.16pl2 to 2.3.4
  • Upgrade Ads Manager Lite 1.2.14 to 1.3.3
  • Reenable themes
All ads show Active but are not being displayed. No outdated templates or errors.
Any thoughts as to where to look @Siropu

Are you using any other criteria?
Are you using lazy loading?
Please take a look in the browser console for any errors.

Are you using any other criteria? - All ads have different Content template is: example = forum_list
Are you using lazy loading? - yes, refresh = 30 seconds
Please take a look in the browser console for any errors.

Forgot about F12

al2.webp

Works on 8WR Wiki and 8WR Portal but not XF, no .js errors.

Hi, I'm looking for a bit more guidance on Ads Manager 2 Lite, specifically regarding the note that AM2L "has everything that Ads Manager 2 has except for the options that allows you to sell ads and promo threads."

What does this mean in practical terms for a forum manager/owner? Does it mean that if we have our own on-site ad sales program we can use AM2L to position those as our own inventory – but if we wanted to sell inventory outside, to display Google Ads for instance, then we'd need the full AM2? I'd love to hear some specific examples of AM2L vs AM2 in this regard.

The error is related to that feature. I will do some testing to see if I can reproduce it.

It means that it doesn't have the features that allows an advertiser to purchase and manage ads from the front-end. Packages in the full version have an "Adverting" tab where you can set price and and other settings. There is also an "Advertising" admin option with various settings.

Ah, I think I understand. So the Lite version is not as 'automated' and not 'self-service', but if a forum sold ads directly to advertisers as a 'package', and they were all managed by the forum admin/staff, then it sounds like the Lite version will suffice..
