Smiley is more correct Smiley and Smilies It's consistent with other words in the English language. Smilie is not in the Oxford English dictionary whereas Smiley is Upvote 0 Downvote

Morgain Well-known member Jan 24, 2013 #6 I see both in use Cedric - use as you know is often not according to rules. I have taught English for years so I tend to be more fussy. As Chris says 'smiley' is 'proper.' For informal use both are accepted. Upvote 0 Downvote
