Add New threads to What's new (Widget/Page node) - Add a display of X New threads to the What's new navigation

1. Create the widget​

Widget definition: New threads
Widget key: whatsNewNewThreads
Title: New threads
Display in positions: (NONE)
Maximum entries: 20(+/-, your choice; I chose 20).
Display style: Standard

2. Create the Page node​

URL portion: new-threads
Title: New threads
Parent node: None
Uncheck display in node list
Navigation selection: What's new...

I don't have this configuration set up, but by seeing step 3:

3. Create the Route filters​

Find route: pages/new-threads
Replace with whats-new/threads
[X] Enabled

You would only need to create a new route filter for whats-new/ to whats-new/threads/ and that should show the threads as the start page. The only downside is the tab wouldn't be selected (but it wouldn't matter because it'd be "What's new", which would be the threads, which you would want anyway).
