A private email solution

I've been running my own mail servers for my personal mail but it is getting a tad expensive.

I was wondering, what do you guys use as a private mail solution? All I want is something that does not personalize my ads and totally deletes when I push delete.

I also want something dependable that I can use with MYNAME@mydomain.com.

You can use:

- Google Apps ($5/user/month, 25GB, Google Office Suite)
- Rackspace ($2/user/month, 25GB, mail only)
- Open Xchange ($1/user/month, 2GB, mail only)
- FastMail ($10/user/year, 250MB, mail only)

However if privacy is a concern to you I'd recommend you to keep your own server and use something like https://mailinabox.email/ or https://github.com/andryyy/mailcow or https://owncloud.org/

Anyway, here's a great list of software to self host your own stuff: https://github.com/Kickball/awesome-selfhosted#email

Fastmail may be cheap but thats no enough storage in this day and age.

This private email stuff is more complicated than I had thought. I have been looking into it. Thanks for all the links all. Keep sending me any data you have. Looking for cheap, reliable and private mail I can send in the name of my domains that is private to clients 1 on 1.

Just use Google Apps. The scaremongering is pathetic. Random Google employees couldn't give less of a crap about what you ordered on Amazon or what business documents you sent to associates, and such information would be less than useless to them.

Why don't you move to a cheaper server, or are there none?

I bought a $60/yr VPS (sociopath) for my email when I switched to Centmin, works well for me :)

Well I'm on the free plan with Zoho so I don't pay any extra. For what little as I would be using it for it works perfectly for me.
