What's the issue? Curious...

The Recent Threads block once placed on the Threads & Posts pages stops the moderator pop up window from appearing...

And something is wrong with the the Twitter block - all threads make it to the Twitter account but then are not reflected in the Twitter block... in Twitter search only tweets made from within the Twitter account appear - the threads which appear in the Twitter account do not make it to Twitter search and subsequently to the Twitter block.

Other sites using this are working, like mbitog.com, or 8wayrun.com - no support here.

No idea about that pages thing.

As for Twitter, did you look through all the posts here? Usually the answer is in the thread somewhere.

Yes, I queries it here also, nothing...

Twitter block not pulling search results, again in XenPorta 1.5.2.
Tried this: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/8wayrun-com-xenporta-portal.26838/page-37#post-370279
That worked for a few days but then stopped.
Reverted the ewrblock_Twitter template, checked my settings, cleared the block cache and ... nothing.
Here's my Twitter Search Query in Blocks>Twitter:
from:mx5life OR @mx5life

Is there a solution for this now? I mean new threads at my site at www.gdf.tv do make it to my twitter account @alltopicsforum, but, these threads do not make it to the Twitter search results for our chosen hash tags, and they also then do not appear in the Twitter block?

If I make a tweet within the Twitter account @alltopicsforum that tweets shows up in the Twitter search results, but still does not appear in the Twitter block?

Has any one solved this?

Thanks.

Hi everbody,

as already mentioned some posts ago, I had the same twitter problem. The reason why it doesen't show all tweets is Twitter changed their JS File. But I found here an way to solve this problem:

https://dev.twitter.com/discussions/8088

Here are the steps:

1) First download this file:

http://onlinegilde.net/others/widget.js

Maybe you have to use right click and say save as!

2) Copy it to your webserver

Transfer this file to your xenforo base directory per FTP

3) Change your template

Open your template EWRblock_Twitter

Search for:

HTML:
<script src="http://widgets.twimg.com/j/2/widget.js"></script>

Replace this with:

HTML:
<script src="/widget.js"></script>

Save all and reload your page

Now everything should work just fine!

Benny

Would this be a solution to my issue as described below?

When i updated XenPorta, it removed everything from MySQL table "EWRporta_donations".

Why is that, and any way to restore???

You answered the question yourself. The issue is NOT the block, but the Twitter search not showing those automated Tweets.

Would this be a solution to my issue as described below?

You asked me to test this, which I did, and it did not solve the issue. I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure why you're asking here if it would be a solution?

I mixed up a solution provided to another error here which I thought was for the Twitter block.... Any how, Twitter block is history for me now - the Twitter widget you are doing for me is something I am satisfied with. As said, I don't understand the advantage of 'Join the conversation' in the XenPorta Twitter block - this simply drives people to follow other Twitter accounts which have the same hash tags as your own Twitter account... illogical.

As for the Twitter widget preview not appearing in IE, please see these 2 links:

https://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/topics/twitter_widget_doesnt_work_in_ie

I doubt if it will be fixed - there's no support from Jaxel. I'm replacing this block with a Twitter widget
No support for the most downloaded add-on of Xenforo is madness, that's why i hate free mods (and even some paid ones refuse support). But he may be waiting for 1.2 for see what is going to break.

XenForo should set standards for this kind of situation, after all it is their script for which such ad-ons are made?

No they shouldn't! How could they implement and police this anyway? Specify responses to every query, even when they are the same questions asked again and again with the information already in an FAQ about the add-on? Specify a minimum amount of time for resolving an issue? Who would police this? Would you expect the Xenforo devs and mods to be reading every add-on thread and checking that authors are supporting in a timely fashion? And what if the authors didn't, what would you expect the devs and mods to do about it?

Dictating to authors a requirement to support their free mods is the wrong thing to do and would only lead to authors not bothering to publish them, giving us far less choice.

The best solution is already in place and it's in our hands. If an author doesn't support a mod and various things don't get fixed that prevent us from using it the way we want it, then we simply stop using the mod and either find an alternative or do without.
