[8wayRun.Com] XenCarta (Lite Wiki)

I keep assuming that things that are indexed by the search (as XenCarta is) will then make them show up in What's New. But that isn't the case. I don't think wiki items will show up in 1.1's What's New.

Interesting wiki.
wiki item - http://dev.bukkit.org/wiki/knowledge-base/policy/project-acceptance-policy/
source for wiki item - http://dev.bukkit.org/wiki/knowledge-base/policy/project-acceptance-policy/r15/source/

Notes: uses wiki creole. http://www.wikicreole.org

Jaxel are you going to update the wiki for XF 1.1 beta or going to wait for the final release? I know there's a beta going on for XenPorta and that maybe you'll be updating that to suit XF 1.1 but what about the wiki? I haven't yet upgraded to 1.1 and XenPorta and Wiki are an important part :P

I m attaching a screenshot of how I d like to have the different headlines and sub categories displayed:
1. Picture on the left
2. Headline on the right plus the different sub categories underneath it

Hi,

With the site http://8wayrun.com/wiki/index/ I can see everything is laid out nice and neat. I am a total noob, but can someone please explain to me how to get this front page happening with my site? Do I need to create css styles or templates? How do I go about achieving this.

Thanks :)

It works on beta 2 as well

I had one question, to show notices on the wiki pages what do I need to do?
I sorted out my problem ;) If anyone wants to display notices on the Wiki do the following:

Go to Styles -> Templates -> Find "EWRcarta_PageView"

Add
Code:
<xen:include template="notices" />

Just above
Code:
<xen:container var="$quickNavSelected">wiki-{$page.page_id}</xen:container>

The go to notices, create your notice. It should show it on the wiki. If you want to show wiki specific notices, go to "display notice if page" check mark selected navigation tab is and add

Code:
wiki

Now this works, there is a small problem though as you can see, the wiki index shows the notices I want to show ONLY in the wiki -> http://orojackson.com/wiki/index/
Individual pages show notices I ONLY want to show in the wiki -> http://orojackson.com/wiki/monkey-d-luffy/
But some pages (which seem to have multiple sub pages) seem to show an extra notice which is NOT meant to be shown in the wiki -> http://orojackson.com/wiki/straw-hat-pirates/

I think this is something Jaxel will have to sort out, otherwise the notices work fine (at least for me on 1.1 Beta 2)

I actually haven't looked at the XF1.1 beta yet... All changes I make to my mods are done on my LIVE site... so I'm waiting for the full 1.1 to come out before I start modding anything.

I installed this add-on, if i click on wiki in the navbar it shows this.

I did not change anything.

edit: nvm i had a folder "wiki" in my root

I still haven't figured out how to solve the problem (see above). The wiki is really nice but i have absoluty no clue how to change its appearance. Is there a way to use html in the wiki entries?

Seemed to install really smoothly thank you.

LATER EDIT For anyone else's benefit = this "didn't work" because I changed the TITLE field.
I don't know why the TITLE field is accessible for me to change but anyway it shouldn't be changed or else the Phrase substitution doesn't work.

Trying to change the label 'wiki' in Phrases - for navbar tab and breadcrumbs.
Tried 'Library' but there is a phrase imageLibrary so thought it did not work because of that.
Tried "Writing.' Same result.

Nothing changes on the frontend.
There is still a Phrase 'wiki' unchanged.
There is also an additional Phrase 'Writing." But it has no Master Value: field.

I have created several pages to act as sibling index pages as you said not to derive a secondary group like this off the wiki index page.
So I don't get what the wiki index is for? (I don't want to use the term 'wiki' and the slug cannot be changed)

I made a Contents page and placed [TOC] as a code place marker in it. But the list of pages does not appear.

LATER This seems to work now. Took a while to process or something.

Hey just a quick question... You're specifying css classes in your templates, but where are these classes stored? Is there a list of them somewhere (or if they're that many only the useful ones)?

Just a bit confused... Thanks :D!

You can search in templates for any css classes, a list of matching templates will be returned.

admin.php?templates/search -> Template Contains

Again Brogan thank you that kind of pointer is so usual to help us - and if we can find how to do it we're not leaning on support so much. Good both ways.

I have moved the forums quicksearch using EXTRA.css.

An unwelcome effect is that the wiki search on the sidebar has also moved.
Can I add to EXTRA.css so it's not affected?

Later - deleted query re placing wki search in header beside fprum search - didn't realise the forum search does it all.
