2.1.0. Gestures you manage yourself: edit the five built-in ones, add your own, and choose who sees the leaderboard.
- Gestures have their own page in the control panel, under XenPing > Gestures: edit a gesture's title, emoji, alert text and order, switch it off, delete it, or add your own. The wave stays as the default gesture.
- Gesture titles and alert texts are phrases, so you can translate them per language.
- New permission "View the Most waved leaderboard": remove it from Guests and the leaderboard, its widget and its links stay away from guests and search engines.
- New option "Leaderboard link position": show the leaderboard link in the account menu, in the navigation bar, or both. New installs use the account menu; upgraded forums keep their tab.
- XenPing has its own section in the control panel sidebar, with Gestures, Wave log and Options in one place.
- Upgrading carries over the five gestures, which of them were switched on, and their translations. Waves sent with a gesture you later delete show as a wave.
- The "Gestures offered besides the wave" option is gone: the gestures page replaces it.
- Fixed: XenPing now installs on forums whose database is not set up for full Unicode. An emoji in the e-mail subject used to stop the installation there.
- Fixed: on a fresh install, the default permissions apply at once. Guests can see the leaderboard and members can wave without a permission rebuild.
This update removes the "XenForo add-ons by ©XenSupport" line that XenPing added to your forum footer, separator included. Nothing to configure: install the archive over the previous version from Admin CP > Add-ons and the line is gone once the upgrade has run.
The resource page now says so too: Visible branding: No.
2.0.1. Keeps the leaderboard and inbox tabs visible on styles that hide standalone tabs, and keeps badges shown after member names at their own size.
- The period tabs of the leaderboard and the Received and Sent tabs of the inbox stay visible on styles that hide XenForo's standalone tabs.
- Badges that other add-ons show after a member name (streaks, levels) keep their own size on the leaderboard instead of stretching across the row.
- In the Most waved widget, such a badge now sits right after the name and the count stays aligned on the right.

2.0.0. Rebuilt on native XenForo with five gestures, an inbox with wave back, leaderboards by period and a widget.
- Five gestures instead of one: Wave, Cheers, Coffee, High five and Thanks. The wave is always there; you choose which of the other four your members can use. Each gesture has its own alert with its emoji.
- "Your waves" inbox: everything you received and sent, with a one-click Wave back button that answers with the same gesture.
- The leaderboard now has three periods: last 7 days, last 30 days and all time, with the podium, infinite scroll and your own received and sent counts.
- "Most waved" widget for any widget position, by period, with up to 20 members.
- Optional wave button in the author block of every message. The gesture menu loads only when it is opened and the counts are preloaded for the whole page, so long threads stay as fast as before.
- "Wave at you" privacy setting (members, people you follow, nobody). Members you ignore can no longer wave at you.
- "Waves per day" permission per user group, including unlimited. Groups without a value keep using the daily limit option.
- Admin CP: a wave log with filters and statistics under Logs, and a counters rebuild under Tools > Rebuild caches.
- REST API: list the waves you received and send a wave (scopes xs_ping:read and xs_ping:write).
- Alert preferences, flood protection, and Spanish translations installed automatically when your forum has a Spanish language.
- Every page is built with XenForo's own components and takes its colours from your style, light and dark.
- Wave counts are stored per member instead of being counted on every page view, which keeps profiles and the leaderboard fast on large forums.
- Deleted and merged members are handled: their waves are removed or moved and every count stays right. Uninstalling leaves nothing behind.
- Upgrade: install the archive over 1.x from the Admin CP. Every wave is kept and the counts are rebuilt automatically. Add-ons that called the 1.x repository (sendWave, getLeaderboard) keep working.

1.1.6. XenPing finally ships its scripts, turns on the remaining waves counter and lets members wave right after install.
- The add-on's JavaScript files are now included in the download, so the wave button confirms a sent wave and the leaderboard loads more members as you scroll.
- The wave button now switches to its sent state correctly on XenForo 2.3.
- The leaderboard's infinite scroll no longer stops with a script error on XenForo 2.3.
- The "Show remaining waves counter" option now works: a small badge on the wave button shows how many waves are left today.
- New installs now let members send and receive waves out of the box; upgrades grant the same defaults only if no wave permissions were ever set.
- Removed an empty loading row left at the bottom of the leaderboard, and an icon that does not exist in XenForo 2.3.
- Scripts now load in minified form on live forums.

Hall of waves redesign with a cinematic masthead, a personal wave card, and a gold/silver/bronze podium for the top 3.
Refined leaderboard list with cleaner rows (avatar, title, wave score). Top 3 appear on the podium, then the rest of the ranking.
Wave pill polish on profiles and tooltips: theme-safe control plus a short success check animation after sending a wave.
Native XenForo theming from style tokens (no more hardcoded amber pastel look). Infinite-scroll JS for the leaderboard is included and working. Animations respect reduced-motion preferences.
XenPing 1.1.0
Re-engagement email · flexible leaderboard · polish
This update turns waves into a real re-engagement tool and gives you full control over the competitive side.
New
Re-engagement email — when a member receives a wave, XenPing can email them to pull them back. Built specifically for inactive members:
- Only emails someone who has been away for X days (you set the threshold)
- At most one email per member per cooldown window — no spam
- Respects each member's "site mailings" email preference
- Off by default — enable it in the ACP when you're ready
Configurable "Most waved" size — choose how many members show on the leaderboard (up to 200). No more fixed 50.
Turn the leaderboard on/off — don't want a public ranking? Flip one switch and the "Most waved" page + its nav tab disappear. Waves stay a friendly gesture; members still send, receive and see their own "received" count.
Polish
- Cleaner profile badges — the wave buttons now use the same squared corners as your other badges, so the profile header looks consistent.
- Compact member tooltip — the wave button + count are now neatly sized inside the hover card, next to the native buttons.
Upgrading: drop-in update. Adds one tiny tracking table (for the email cooldown); no reconfiguration needed, and the email feature stays off until you switch it on. All new settings live in ACP → XenSupport → XenPing.

XenPing 1.0.4
Visual consistency polish
This release is all about consistency — making XenPing sit perfectly alongside your other community add-ons. No new settings, no database changes: just update and enjoy a tidier look.
Profile badge alignment — the "waves received" pill on member profiles now matches the height of sibling badges (e.g. the XenStreak day counter), so all your profile badges line up neatly on the same row.
Full-width leaderboard — the "Most waved" page now spans the full content width, consistent with native XenForo pages and other leaderboards in your community.
Upgrade notes: safe, drop-in update — no schema changes, no reconfiguration needed.

XenPing 1.0.3
Waving just got competitive. XenPing now shows how many waves each member has received and crowns your friendliest members on a brand-new leaderboard — turning a simpleinto a daily reason to come back.
New features
- “Waves received” counter on every profile. Right next to the Wave button, a pill shows the total number of waves a member has received. It's visible to everyone — members, guests, even on your own profile — as social proof that encourages people to collect more waves.
- “Most waved” leaderboard. A new public page (/waves) ranks members by the waves they've received, with gold / silver / bronze for the top three and a “your waves received” card at the top. A Most waved tab is added to the navigation so it's always one click away.
Good to know
- The profile counter and the leaderboard link to each other, so members go from a profile to the full ranking in a single tap.
- Built entirely on the existing data — no new tables, and the leaderboard stays fast as your wave count grows.
Upgrading
- Upgrade is automatic, with nothing to configure.
- Requires XenForo 2.3+.
