On most forums a guild, a clan or a crew is one long thread, and it lives or dies with whoever keeps bumping it. Teams gives every group a home of its own on your board, a way to recruit, and a reason to come back: something to win together.

Announcements and wall

What it does​

• A page for every team. Banner, logo, tags, announcements, a wall, its own forums with thread prefixes, and events with RSVP and a calendar file, all in your XenForo style, light or dark.
• Roles with real permissions. Each team writes its own roles and decides who accepts members, sends invitations, moderates the wall, runs events or manages duels. A role can also be linked to forum user groups.
• Recruitment that goes both ways. Applications and invitations, plus a board where teams post calls and players publish a profile. Once an hour both sides are matched, scored out of 100 and told why.
• A wall that is real XenForo content. Attachments, mentions, reactions, quick edit, drafts, pinned comments, soft delete, the approval queue, inline moderation, warnings and the moderator log.
• Progression. XP and member levels, daily, weekly and one-time quests, achievements with automatic criteria, and a team level that unlocks perks.
• Competition. A leaderboard, seasons that crown a champion and fill a hall of fame, and duels between two teams.
• A cockpit for the leader. One page with the figures of the team and a Needs your attention list, each line with the button that settles it.
• Moderation inside the team. Banned words, strikes with an expiry, removal at the limit, and an audit log.
• Open to the rest of your board. Five widgets, a REST API, webhooks, link embeds, user criteria for trophies and promotions, and a section in the activity summary email.
• Seventeen Admin CP pages. From the dashboard to seasons, recruitment, duels, level perks, strikes and maintenance.

New in 3.1.2​

• Duels. A team challenges another for 3, 7 or 14 days and each side scores the XP its members earn. Live scoreboard, a Duels hub, a tab on every public team, bonus XP for the winner, three achievements, alerts and a widget.
• Team level and perks. Every team has a level computed from the XP of its members. You build the ladder in the Admin CP from nine perk types, among them member slots, emoji slots, the theme builder, an animated banner and extra duels.
• A new look. The logo sits in a ring that fills as the team nears its next level, on the header, the cards and the podium. The team page, the hub and the leaderboard are redrawn around the banner.
• Everything since 1.3. If you come from the previous store release, the recruitment board, seasons, the cockpit, the native wall, team forums, the API and four of the five widgets are new to you as well.

Good to know​

Requires XenForo 2.3.0 and PHP 8.0 or later, and no other add-on. The interface says team in some places and community in others: every label is a XenForo phrase, so you can settle on your own word.

Guests are read only: by default they browse public teams and the recruitment board, and everything else needs an account. A private team is seen only by its members, the people it invited and your staff, and it cannot duel. Duels are decided on XP earned; there is no bracket tournament. An upgraded board starts with an empty perk ladder, which one button fills.

Upgrading from 1.3 is direct, from the Admin CP or by uploading the files, and keeps your teams, members, roles, quests, events and XP. Take a backup first: threads from each team's linked forum move into a single Team discussions forum and the old team forums are removed. Review the permissions afterwards, most of them are new.
