Is it really free?
Yes. The app, the add-on and the hosted push service cost nothing. We build branded apps for forums that want their own, and that pays for the project.
Which XenForo versions does it support?
2.2 and 2.3. Push notifications need PHP's openssl and curl extensions, which most hosts have.
Does my forum's content go through your servers?
No. Topics, posts, messages and accounts go straight between the app and your forum, through the add-on's forumcopilot.php. forumcopilot.com lists your forum in the app and relays push notifications to the Forum Copilot app.
Can members sign in with Google, Facebook or a passkey?
Yes. Sign-in happens on your own website, so every method your website offers works in the app. This needs add-on 1.9.0 or later.
How is it different from XenForo's web app (PWA)?
The web app is your website added to the home screen. Forum Copilot is a native app that members find in the App Store and Google Play, with push notifications on iPhone and Android without adding anything to the home screen, your forum's reactions and direct messages, and sign-in that shares the phone's saved passwords and passkeys. The two work side by side.
Can I have an app with my own name and icon?
Yes. Fork the open-source app on GitHub and publish it yourself, or ask us to build and publish it for you.
