Had a thread discussing a topic and had a new thread discussing the same topic, but I wanted the first post of the new thread to be the first post of the newly merged thread. This addon allowed me to set the date and time of the first post. Awesome.
Worked like a charm for me. Some of our valued users are fast at creating threads that have to feature the first post with information from the administration of the forum. This add-on helps with such situations greatly. Don't forget to set permission for Change Post Date to Yes for your admin/moderator user groups.
This is a very handy feature that works as described. I set up my website well in advance of the publication dates for some upcoming novels. I wanted to set up the forums and several threads ahead of time. This feature lets me keep the dates 'fresh' so it won't look outdated when I actually do publish and hopefully attract visitors.
I use this feature pretty often, I use it to post a summary of large threads and move the summary post to the top of the thread. Works as described, very happy with it so far
