Let's talk about 2.4 baby

Interesting.
Excalidraw is a quite amazing.
I use Obsidian.MD 's excalidraw plugin to create local whiteboard notes. Obsidian uses Markdown and it seems Xenforo and TipTap support markdown.
I'd love some combination of Obsidian and Xenforo. Xenforo needs pages anyway. Obsidian doesn't have the concept of multiple users.

We're building something like that. We are switching to tiptap soon as the editor. And eventually you will be able to do markdown in/out, in addition to the nice editor.

Categorization is done by dragging and dropping folders on the left ( if you're admin ).
The software is bizarrely simple.

The software is still young and doesn't have good funding yet, so we're moving slow, but will eventually have a open source release.

Even with the context form watching Severance the last line from Claude had me almost do a spit take.

Also... what app do you use for your screenshots? They always look so nice.
CleanShot X

I'm not sure if there are any cheap/free options but I don't pay for it so I can't complain :) It's very good though.

We have a Setapp subscription which is how we pay for our TablePlus licenses as overall that works out as better value but aside from that CleanShot is probably one of the included things I use most often.

Have should have known it was CleanShot X. Used to use that with my own Setapp sub before deciding the few tools I used weren't enough of a reason for the cost (CleanShot X, The winrar alternative but forgot its name, TablePlus were the only ones lol).

I switched over the second DataGrip became free for non-commercial use, even if I highly prefer the UI of TablePlus.

Edit: Also completely different topic but have been loving using the XF CLI y'all created. Such a nice experience being able to setup a XF dev instance with some prompts. Now I'll go back to waiting for the REPL lol.

Still a fair few bits coming down the wire before we declare it ready for release but cool that people have found it and started using it already. There's a PR for worktree management awaiting review so you can spin up a whole install in a separate git worktree, clone the existing base database, and start working on a new feature in an isolated space without faffing with multiple checkouts and branches that agents might end up fighting over.

Oh My God GIF

Sounds like an interesting amount of work you have in front of you all.
Please Let us know when you're going to release the editor so we can upgrade our forums with it.

Waffle parties for everyone, I think.
One of the first things that I'm going to try when I get my hands on 2.4 beta is clicking the version number in ACP. I kind of expect to see a picture of a waffle...

...but, all (assuming) XF devs use Apple products, so I really don't expect this behavior as they wouldn't understand. 😅

How about utilising ffmpeg and compression on videos outside the gallery addon, every other social media site can compress a video on upload and make significant savings there in space and loading times and consistency yet we're still using a attachment system from 20 years ago handling it and inserting it in archaic manner.

This.
It's only on the xf cloud.
Make it something for self hosted too.
