Your XenForo 1.1 Wish List

All the things needed to allow big boards to migrate from vbulletin. Starting with:
- thread prefixes
- tags
- social groups
- reputation comments
- infraction system

Dear Xenforo,
please put a maid into XF 1.1, so I can have it clean my house, do my dishes, make my bed, cook my food. Imagine how much more free time I'd have to spend working on sites with your software!!!

Instead of a lot of new features, I'd just like some features that it would make it easier to admin, like being able to delete more than one error in the error log at a time, allow multiple selections of things to remove in the admin, being able to search a thread while reading it. etc.

I need quicker admin access to a persons profile, I want to click in their name and as an admin have a link right there to the user admin. Presently I have to remember the name, then go to admin and search for the member, what a pain. I got used to the VB edit user profile being there for me, I alway edited the right person, not a similar sounding one and never had to remember the name, lethal for me. Thanks

I'm afraid to post anything...Brogan will reply with a link.

:D

For the big board I administer, I'm looking forward to what Kier has in mind for big board search. Although, I've been highly please with the performance of Sphinx on our vB installation. I now run a cron every minute to generate the delta index, and rebuild the full indexes at around 5:00am EST when our traffic is at absolute lowest. I'm still amazed at how 35-45 second searches now get results in less than a second. We also supplement it with a Google Search.

A few ignore features have already been mentioned, including ignore user, ignore forum sections when viewing for "new posts" (which we do via plugin now), and the ultimate tool: Tachy goes to Coventry. Although we probably need to call it Brogan goes to Bournemouth here. :D Coventry was a really nice place to send some members on a vacation...some permanent. We had one especially cantankerous older member (in his 60s or 70s) posting for a year and a half before he realized what was happening, and finally showed his hand when he wrote a few nasty comments in a post and we didn't even do anything about it for a month. :D It also worked well for a couple of users who needed to have their posts removed from public view in the forum for work-related reasons. We couldn't do anything about replies to their posts, but by changing their username and putting them in Coventry, it hid them sufficiently.

- Custom profile fields
- Usergroup promotions based on post count (like in vb)
- Full furl (like forums/forum-a/topic-a forums/forum-b/topics-b)
- Thread prefixes
- New social features
- Notices system
- Advertisment management
- Improved Trophies system
- A simple user album...
- General rss feed of forum/Members feeds

  • Custom Profile Fields
  • Twitter Authentication
  • Stats(New users, last months' etc)
  • Easy access to user profile from ACP(the username should be hyperlinked)
  • Better User Upgrades system
Would like to see the following in the core or as add-on:
  • Search for similar threads(reduce duplicate threads)
  • Thread Thumbnails
That's it for now.
The most important one being Twitter Authentication :)

..snip
and the ultimate tool: Tachy goes to Coventry. y.

I like the Coventry tool, but I have always been found out when using it. We use a VBadvanced frontpage and the user in Coventry's posts won't show up (to them) in the latest posts module so they smell a rat.

-migrate photos from vB user albums to either a forum or user albums on xF.

My xF is sitting here on a subdomain and I cant convert my vB until we get this. Unfortunately we cant abandon our photos. And already got the bad news that if I convert now, albums wont be able to be converted after.

Would that be server intensive ?
Hundreds of users .... everyone with their own custom ignore threads ?

Basically it's just a list of threads that should not be listed. One extra parameter for the SQL queries that run anyway. It exists as an add-on for vb, and on my vb forum I just couldn't imagine life without it.

Mass Leave conversations
Merge Users
RSS Import (how many items to grab per import)
RSS Export (Whole board, Order by latest Thread, NOT latest Reply)
More trophy options, (many suggestions in Brogans thread)
Allow Guest voting in Polls
Multiquote across pages

These, I believe, should be in the core product. With the exception of Trophys, they are very minor, simple additions.
