XF 2.0 XF2 to Xf2 import . RM and XFMG question

When I import from Xenforo 2 to Xf2, is the Media Gallery and RM also imported? Or do I lose all this data? or is there a way to save them?

Only XF2 data is imported. The other things would require their own importer.

Sorry for that stupid question. but where can I find the importer for the resource manager and the XF Media Gallery?

There isn't one. At least not yet. Might be something we add in the future but not a priority at the moment.

Ughh, I was about to do a trial migration from XF1.5 to XF2 using the import method as a number of addons are having uninstallation issues and thus I'm very weary about doing the standard upgrade method (plus I like to start on a clean slate). Unfortunately it's a bit of a problem if I can't import xfmg data....

Solve the uninstallation issues and uninstall the add ons properly. Then you can do a normal upgrade.

The use case of the XF to XF importer is not this and it is not recommended.

It’s designed for XF sites to merge one site into another.

Good to know, thanks. Would be nice to have a mechanism to achieve a clean upgrade though.
