I am currently using xenforo2.2.16 patch 2. Will I get any errors if I update the version of Xenporta that supports xenforo2.3? @Jaxel

There is currently no version of Xenporta that supports XF 2.3. If you upgrade your XF version to 2.3 you will need to uninstall Xenporta (see my earlier post and Jaxel's response.

XF2.3 completely changes JavaScript in XenForo. It's basically a completely conversion from jQuery to vanilla ES6 JavaScript. So pretty much all JavaScipt in all my addons will break... thankfully I've tried to program all my addons to fallback silently on JS failures, but it definitely ruins some functionality. Most of my addons will work on a basic fundamental level, but not any of the jQuery stuff.

XenPorta is the biggest hiccup because much of it uses third-party libraries that require jQuery. So I will need to rewrite much of it (masonry, infinite scrolling, feature slider, etc) in order for those features to work again. It's going to be a lot of work.

Can’t you include jquery for your addons

As far as I know, xenforo has completely removed jquery support. How will the addon that will work within Xenforo work with jquery? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have Xenporta 2.2.0.6 and Xenforo 2.3. The only thing that does not work is de feature slider on my Xenporta-homepage.

I have xenport 2.2.0.7. And also, even xenporta2.2.0.7 version does not work in xenforo2.3 version. There is no jquery support in xenforo 2.3. @Jaxel is probably redesigning the xenporta addon.
