I am not gonna lie, This thread has me cracking up lol. When the new update drops, I'm a be sad to see this thread die. Then the next beefing thread pop up a month later asking for another update lol. Sike, let me stop...... I honestly think this is healthy dialog that needs to be had. expressing your feelings is sooo healthy so carry on my good people.

Attacking? I’m not trying to say it’s not happening, but from what I read, people are expressing their feelings. Not everybody is gonna agree cause we are all different. But if somebody was attacked then they can flag and report it. They can also block the person and then continue in the thread. I’ve blocked a person who was rude to me on this forum. Now I don’t even see their content anymore. As adults we should be able to have those tough conversations, just as long as it’s respectful.

I'd say being called "a nasty piece of work" was an attack - yet somehow that's still allowed to stand here with no consequences. Maybe the release of forum moderation is a 2.3 feature.
I guess attempting to talk about XF2.3 in a 2.3 thread was a mistake.

I hope 2.3 has more integration and you don't have to install 100 add-ons to get it a little to your liking.
Look at the add-ons, with some you really think, this should have just been standard in XF.

I have about 7 and I decommissioned my only paid one. So, no, you shouldn't have to install 100 add-ons to get it a little to your liking even now unless you're doing something way beyond core forum functionality. Which is, IMHO, what add-ons are for.
And I am getting rather sick of people treating the add-on economy as a weakness. It is one of the system's greatest strengths by letting the first party devs focus on core forum functionality while enabling third parties to extend that into new areas. I don't want XF to be a Swiss army knife that does tons of stuff but in a very shallow manner. I want it to be focussed on what it does best and then have a strong API and extensibility features to enable others to build on that base.
Example: I looked at running a writing and publishing site with XF. I was going to add AMS for the publishing, Siropu's Chat 2 and Shoutbox, and a couple other add-ons to the base to get the feature set up to what we had on the site it was to replace (the project ultimately did not happen as the site did not, in the end, need to be replaced). I didn't expect XF to add any of that to core. I was happy to budget for those as add-ons because I knew I would get better functionality from an add-on than I would from XF trying to replicate that add-on in base.

Why bother counting? We already know that 2.2.13 is probably going to drop well before we see any HYS for 2.3 so I wouldn't even bother worrying about 2.3 until 2.2.13 comes out.

You are assuming I read such words, which is not fair. Like I said several times, if you or anybody else is having problems with other board members, you can block them. So please do not throw your attitude my way. I for one do not come on this platform for this. Tools are built into this website to help users with issues. After blocking them you will be free of the problems they may have caused you personally. I am also nobody who can help you or anybody else with such problems. So pointless to even chat something like this my way. I hope all of you who are upset find a swift and peaceful resolution.
