There is a significant change coming in 2.3 which I don’t want to give too much away about right now but it’s been in development and has been for the majority of 2022. It will be worth the wait but it isn’t ready to show you yet.

I think that suggests we’re getting a new first party addon rather than major structural changes.

I think it suggests something with the code structure myself, maybe something to do with the way Xenforo renders .css or javascript. Who knows?

at this point of time, my only hope is that xenforo does not end up expanding focus on non forum components and become too complicated. wordpress was once a basic blogging tool and it excelled at that. now, it is a mess with full site editing and block editor and stuff. hopefully the major changes are mostly in the backend and they do not really overhaul how the frontend works. though some modernization would be more than welcome. this is the only forum platform that still makes sense to me. i could never get myself to get involved in a forum based on a platform like discourse which are becoming more popular on the web. anyways. good to get an unofficial update to know that all is well with the company and they are indeed working hard on the next major release. cheers.
