XF 1.4 Xenporta -Couple questions-

I'm using Xenporta but for some reason I'm getting an overlap like this > http://prntscr.com/5dp1w7
So how do I fix that?
Also, I'm getting that news on my forum tab, how do I get it to only show up on my home tab? http://prntscr.com/5dp28b
