XenForo, a British company that makes community forum software, meanwhile claims it acknowledged the problem last summer, patching the issue with a new version of swfupload.swf in June with XenForo 1.1.3.

WTF... "claims it acknowledged"... Why not just say they *acknowledged and patched it* nine months ago. Throwing "claims" raises the possibility that the facts might be in question, or that these mysterious claims are not verifiable by third parties.

They're basically a security tabloid, a lot of the time posting news just to post news even if its out of date or incorrect at times.

Just lazy journalism - writer couldnt be bothered to check evidence and place it on file against any query.
If challenged and shown contrary evidence the paper is clear because it was 'only a claim not an assertion'
