To be fair, in Tesla's case, I think it's more the fact that a lot of people find Elon Musk to be a deeply disagreeable individual - to put it politely.
 
We do get it quite often. The worst part is when they're using unlicensed versions. So we doubly can't do anything. We've never even had a business relationship with them, they're just out there using our stuff with our branding on.
 
One person posted a YT video about an unpleasant site (unlicensed) which resulted in a flood of tickets.

We asked them to remove it as the site had nothing to do with us and was running XF unlicensed, but they refused.

It's like, yea ok buddy, good luck with that. We'll await the UK court paperwork.

Which never turns up disappointingly.

I never got a response back from my original email to the scammer featured in that letter, so a year later I sent this follow-up:
Hi $scammer,

I hope this email reaches you. I am sending this follow-up from an alternate email in case the original email was lost in your spam folder, and sending it to your company address, in case your Outlook address is no longer functional. If this also doesn’t work and I don’t hear back from you, I might try some of the older emails from one of the six other companies you’ve dissolved.

I am still waiting for you to get back to me with regards to this matter. Perhaps the court summons have been lost in the mail? I would strongly recommend sending such important letters via tracked post.

In any case, I have not had a single night’s sleep since receiving your letter, due to anxiety over being taken to court over this. My bloodstream has been entirely replaced by raw caffeine, the bags under my eyes could fill a Sports Direct mug and quite frankly, my friends & family are growing concerned as they seem to believe I actually need sleep.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience whether you will drop this matter, or if you have simply moved on to trying to scam another small business.

(This scammer had set up & dissolved no fewer than six companies with three different marriage partners - all solicitors - dedicated to making GDPR claims.)

I'm also disappointed the scammer didn't double down.

Maybe some day...

Curious if such site included a name of a fruit.

If so, we had new york times, and an FBI agent (as well as numerous vigilantes and protesters) contact us asking why we could be affiliated with such a site and were investigated and it was just a lot of fun. Even though the only thing was that in the footer it only said "Some add-ons built by themehouse" lol

His side of it will be total and absolute drivel. (He posted it on the other site, so we already know it is full of factual errors and hyperbole).

So no, he wont be getting unbanned. As staff we have wasted too much time on this one person, and as far as we are concerned we are done with him and going back to business as usual, making kick ass forum software.

That's the way to do it.
Even if the internet pest is posting up loads of incorrect stuff about this site and you guys get a court order put on him making him take down his hate site. He'll learn in time that he's not allowed to post on here ever again.

Gosh it's not hard to keep everything in check when people come and use your software.
At least when you guys get spoken about on my own site it's always positive vibes only.
We often discuss about all the new stuff and leave it until it comes out.

As for the internet pest he gets spoken about too. Don't worry we don't rip in too much but we do speak about him and his dosgusting crusade against you guys.
