Xen Notices [Deleted]

Chris and principia, thanks. I did not realize that I could use the doenload link in the older emails. Thanks again. :)

Did any of the notifications I designed break a little for anyone in v1.4 with the text being off a little and the close icon not sitting correctly in the notification?

I have just re-sent the e-mail containing version 1.4 as it seems that not very many people received it.

Contact me with your order e-mail address if you still do not receive the e-mail.

If you receive the e-mail and have already updated to 1.4, you do not need to update again.

This seems like a great add-on. One question. Am I supposed to replace the tinymce folder in the JS folder with the folder with the same name included in this add-on?

Well, whatever is in my TinyMCE folder should go into your TinyMCE folder in the server. It won't replace any existing files.

Yup as Chris said it won't replace/remove anything I uploaded the tinymce folder and all that does is insert the necessary files to get the editor working in the admincp settings. :)

Shelley, thanks for the info! :)

Another question. I have created a test notification but it does not show up? The installation went fine. Where should I start troubleshooting?

Ensure you have set the groups you want to display it for by going into the User Criteria tab and selecting who you want to display that notice for.

Hmm, but by default it should show to everyone in every forum unless you've set the criteria otherwise.

If you're using a modern browser such as Chrome or Firefox, it might be worth seeing if there's any JavaScript errors in the Console by pressing F12 and clicking the Console tab.

Did that for regular members and guests. Still nothing happening. Btw, the preview button does not seem to work.

My bad! I forgot to upload the Gitter folder in the JS folder. I thought everything was fine before since the installation didn't say anything about it. Now everything works like it should :)

No! I did that and it screwed up everything. ;)

Be sure to merge and not overwrite.

Just out of interest, Jeff/Fredrikse - which FTP client are you using?

It's just that in Windows, I use FileZilla, and not once have I ever had to question whether I'm replacing or merging - it always merges.

I'm on a mission to simplify add-on installations - I really want to remove the margin of error and confusion it can cause...
