Why I am going to give XenForo a try

With regards to staff responding to support questions I have to agree "Jake" & "Brogan" answer a tremendous amount and provide top notch support but the community also are a big part in providing support where and when they can. It's seldom a support thread will go unanswered, if ever. Infact, at times there's a big fight who gets there first. :D
Yeah, there's a whole forum thing going on I think to see who can beat Brogan to an answer... we rarely succeed... *considers seriously breaking @Brogan's fingers*

Something has to give. :p So yeah, kind of invert his fingers so he can't type wouldn't want to break those fingers otherwise we would get those nasty repercussions such as a audi come crashing through our front door (as seen in transporter 1,2 , 3) lol

I was notified about Xenforo by some people I hired to do monthly management of my new vBulletin forum. Like I JUST dropped a lot of $$ to buy the vB license, and I went with it because I had used it 10 years ago when it was considered the top forum management software on the market. It always seemed to have EVERYTHING I could want and need right out of the box. So because of that, I didn't do too much research and went with what I knew and was familiar with. My tech guys, or so I will call them told me about XF when I mentioned my forum had some people that had never used this sort of platform as a discussion board claimed it was "confusing" "complicated" etc. to use. At first I was like HELL NO I just paid for this vb license! Well upon first looking at the demo, and then them setting me up with a test version of it that had my forum stuff transferred on to it, being able to tinker around in there... I still wasn't completely sold. It seemed as if I was going to have to spend a lot of extra money on add-ons to make it work the way I wanted. But really, once I made my list, the price wasn't too bad. Not near what I paid for vb! AND I had purchased the $199 installation. What wasted money! Anyway, it was REALLY me coming HERE that sold me.

When you go to the vBulletin.com site you may wait for ever for a response at ALL! Also they are not the most friendly, and they act like you are just annoying them by asking a lot of questions. Especially for someone that can get around tech-wise and when you have a question of how to do something, they just send you some crazy codes and say "that's it!" --- While I am sitting there scared to death and they don't make it really clear. I nearly caused my site to crash once by tinkering around in style sheets that I really had no idea what I was doing!

So yeah, the community here is hands down 10x better and more friendly and helpful. There isn't this aire of tech-support and the tech geeks being superior to other members that may not understand or know as much. So this forum is what really pushed me to go ahead and switch. My migration should be happening today!

@MistyMeanor Today huh..... exciting times for you!!! Keep us informed on your progress and don't be worried about shouting out to us all here if you need anything!

KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid
Pretty sure that that's also XF's moto.

At first glance XF seems basic however you'll notice pretty quickly that's it's actually very robust. They just keep things simple and intuitive (how it should be). (y)

Well coming from working for one of the best companies in the WORLD, Apple... I take the theory behind the products and Steve Jobs vision...

Was he the first to make a computer, an mp3 player, a smart phone, a tablet? No... but he just made them better and kept all of the styling clean and simple.

So while XF may not be the first one's out there to create forum software, their vision seems to be better and cleaner and more simplistic.

Their vision is going forward and in a nutshell to make life easier on us and the way we run, manage, upgrade our sites. It's why I'll always recommend xenforo to anyone over <insert other software> and don't foresee that to change anytime soon. It's just the better of the forum software(s) that's out there and worth it's weight in gold. I'm a fan of it if you couldn't tell. :)
