Pickup girls? It never works :'(.
Hahaha. :D
:)

I do not think that I have expressed myself very well. I want to create a forum for a group of people to discuss what interests them. I clearly have an idea of what type of things those will be but it will not be the same as say creating a forum for people who like cars, for example.

So I am not sure that I can say at this point that I like it. What I can say is that I would have really valued this forum at one point and think that it could be a really useful resource for a lot of people. And if that happens, I am sure that I will like it very much :)

I want to do it properly so it has the best chance of suceeding, that will cost time and money but I want to give it a go
Sounds interesting. It's just that if you don't start a project because you're interested in it, like to do it and have a certain passion for it, it will likely fail. Everything will go much smoother in my humble opinion, when you like what you're doing.

That seems to happen alot. Something gets bought off by a bigger company, starts to go downhill, the main people in the original scene breaks off and start something better :) Reminds you of anything?
lol indeed....the original scene did break off...I took a large portion of moderators and subject matter experts along with me :)

It was either contribute to charity, or be compared to 'hitler' to 'well off' i-surfers who have nothing better to do than criticize someone that gave up years to provide a FREE service to supposed like minded people.

I choose to be underappreciated!! :D

I was running quite a few and tried to cut down. Lately I have been discussing with myself wether or not to completely drop my sites and focus on doing something else.

I do it because forum products have always been an interest for me from way back to phpbb to ipb then to helping Andrew Gallant of wtcbb as lead designer on wtcbb 2.0. Proving resources for forum products is purely hobby though soon I'll be commercialising one of my sites and converting to IPB and another to Xenforo which will be free a based resource.

But like Azhria, I'm also into self torture when it comes to styling. I'm just not the kind of person to be around when styling commences. Though I have to admit, haven't styled in several months now and I'm missing it and itching to get back into the game again.

I question myself often with this... I have been progressively shifting out of all main roles in my own sites and work, teaching others and handing things over to others for daily running, thus giving me more time to do other things, as my passions change over the years. Usually once I have something running well and achieving its goal, I like to step out of it and let others handle the daily running. I participate here and there, but there are other more important things to do in life than being online.

I've been doing so for five years now (ever since MyBB 1.2, even. Before that I used SMF.), and I always open one on something I'm interested in.
