Where do you see your community by the end of 2025?

I’m pretty sure most forums will be dead by 2030. Reddit and maybe a few more will survive. Most people prefer consuming their info from Facebook groups, YouTube, instagram, or TickTok. People under 30 usually won’t register to other platforms to socialize or consume information.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. For the most part, the younger generation doesn’t want to leave their usual social media groups. Thus, the typical forum age demographic is aging along with the forums themselves. Pretty much only a matter of time, unless forums really do something special to stand out and compete against big social media. Google also seems hell bent on giving Reddit and Quora free advertising at the top of many search results, pushing forums way down in the search rankings. Heck, even around here things have slowed, staff suddenly disappearing, even the owner not posting since last spring, to my knowledge. I’m really hoping things do turn around for the better though…🤞

Are you ever concerned that your forum users are "aging out"?
They are but given the nature of the site, not sure it is really a "concern". We aren't a moneymaker or anything. The site was spun up after another site closed and some of the members wanted to keep the community going. Fortunately, a couple of us work in IT, including me, so we had people who could do the work to create and maintain the site.
