when is the new version is expected to be available?

No one knows at this time the next important date in the court case is 20th of Feb.

Once case out the way, we assume development to continue

The currently released version is 1.2.3. 1.3 is in development and there are continual bug fixes that are still awaiting release.

Beta just means that they were on a trial run to see if any critical bugs needed to be fixed. Just check the threads without beta in the title.
