XF 2.3 Way to filter posts in a thread some how?

I didn't know exactly how to phrase this but my forum relies heavily on news/breaking events. People come looking for information and often times, the thread gets saturated with people arguing about things or whatever.

On a different software, you could view the thread w/ only posts by staff members (as they were providing news about sports) and it made me wonder if that's possible here?

I feel like this has been asked/answered or must exist. Could users click a box to mark their posts "newsworthy" and then you could view a thread only seeing those posts?

Sorry, I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Would using Thread Prefixes get you any way to a solution? You can control which groups can access certain prefixes and you can filter by them, staff could remove prefixes from troublesome threads.

Apologies, I should have read the initial request more carefully. In which case maybe the

Add-on might be of some use? It allows filtering of a thread to show only one user's posts - granted that can be any user - not just a moderator's and you're culling down to just one user which may not be what the OP had in mind.

Yes, there are a few ways to narrow down posts within a thread, but it depends on what exactly you're trying to filter.

If you're looking to view posts by a specific user in a thread, you can just click on their avatar or username, then select “Find all posts by [user] in this thread” — that’s built-in functionality in XenForo.

For more advanced filtering — like keyword-based filters or custom post types — XenForo doesn’t have that out of the box. You’d either need a custom add-on or some template/js tweaking.

There was an add-on called Thread Filter by Siropu that offered tagging and filtering within threads, but I'm not sure if it's been updated for the latest XenForo versions. Worth checking.

If it's for moderation or content curation purposes, you could consider using threadmarks or structuring posts via Q&A threads.

What kind of filtering are you trying to achieve — by keyword, user, date, or something else?
