VerticalScope Inc Headed toward Bankruptcy?

A little late to the party, but the writing is on the wall. Got the message below on 4 of their motorcycle forums, tonight. I was an administrator when they took over, their way or the highway, many members that provided technical advice, just left, after the changes to the forum were made. Here is a fact, present day, 300 guests and 6 members logged in at any one time, before the takeover, up to 1000 members logged in at any one time and 250 guests. Spammers galore!! At one time, 30,000 registered spammers, multiple emails with 10 or more users on each email, porn sites-you name it, now automated spam protection.

I along with 3 other moderators just quit, in 2020. It is all about the money, no clue about content. So I found a link to this site and was surprised that it opened, after registering here, the motorcycle forum was finally back up and running.
upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure

I started our forum in 2001. A couple young guys started a competing site and sold it to an older guy for 1500.00. 20 years later he's still using VB and clueless. Spammers were so bad he had to close registration for a year lol. Then it got hacked and they started sending scam email promoting DERO crypto to all the forum information they stole. Total train wreck. So it can get worse than VS.

APPARENTY a major update, the message was on all motorcycle forums for around 10 minutes.

A forum that I was on was always giving timeout and 404, 400, etc. errors. This happened to every VerticalScope forum I ever lurked on.

A little insight, I was an administrator for 6 years, the last 5 months, things became a bit odd, getting technical support might take 2 weeks. A person named Cricket came in and changed everything, and we had a feedback forum, where the contributing members voiced their opinion. All was ignored. When I commented in that forum, it was swiftly removed and an administration forum was created. Eventually, most of those contributing members left, and on occasion, they log in, one feature is all the forums are public-anyone can view or search, you need to become a member to comment-zero privacy! I have a much longer story, and some privacy was added, but it is their way or the highway, two things drive them, money and money -zero concern about members. Pay to be a member and you can avoid some commercials.
Just clicked on the link-Cricket is alive and active!

Administrators and supermods were encouraged to join their teaching platform, the link below-they have some people that suck up and can do anything they please, rules only apply to a chosen few-joining was my downfall-no regrets on leaving !!

I belong to a couple, and while I don't visit as much as I used to, I've never run into those problems while visiting. I'm also not into rampant conspiracy theories so I'm backing out of both of the VS threads here.

What!? I must be doing something wrong. I average about 5 hours/day 365 days/yr. There hasn't been a day I haven't been on my forum in at least a decade.

Same.

I have missed a few days here and there for various reasons over the past 23 years, but I have a great moderation team and I'm in daily text communication with my deputy administrator.

Same, we have a fabulous set of moderators. Every one hand picked after years of membership that demonstrated their personality and style. We never accept someone who asks to be a moderator, the answer is immediately, "sorry we are not looking for more moderators now." We also have a monthly moderator's call where we talk shop and talk about life. Every mod has every other mod's cell phone so we can all text or call each other. All mod's get along and a few of us get together on occasion.

No, I do the same. I'm on my sites a LOT throughout the day, every day. What I meant was, I don't expect that all site owners will dedicate the same time to their sites that I do, especially when they own a ton of sites.
