vBulletin Big Board Importer [vBulletin 3 + vBulletin 4] [Paid] 1.5.0

No permission to buy ($150.00)
I wish you guys had released this in 2011 November! By the way, you should really include vB5 importer as well. I bet it'd make you folks richer overnight :D

Will this be updated to include post edit history for XF 1.2?

Once 1.2 is available, yeah.

vB5 is a completely different system, unlike vB3 and vB4 which have almost identical schemas. vB5 also has a tiny fraction of the market share of vB3/vB4. I personally won't be creating a vB5 importer. There are other more popular systems out there needing importers.

Hmm... I have no problem with the importer when I upgrade my 3.6 board to 4.x prior to exporting... But when I try to export attachments from 3.6, it seems it can't find any of the files...

Code:
Make Selection [1-9]: 6

        405 new attachments
1235 1241 !!MISSING DATA!!1242 !!MISSING DATA!!1243 !!MISSING DATA!!1257 !!MISSING DATA!!1258 1259 1262 !!MISSING DATA!!1263 !!MISSING DATA!!1264 !!MISSING DATA!!1265 !!MISSING DATA!!1266 !!MISSING DATA!!1269 !!MISSING DATA!!1270 !!MISSING DATA!!1271 !!MISSING DATA!!1273 !!MISSING DATA!!1277 1278 1279 !!MISSING DATA!!1280 !!MISSING DATA!!1281 !!MISSING DATA!!1282 !!MISSING DATA!!1283 !!MISSING DATA!!1286 1289 !!MISSING DATA!!1294 !!MISSING DATA!!1295 !!MISSING DATA!!1296 !!MISSING DATA!!1297 !!MISSING DATA!!1298 !!MISSING DATA!!1299 !!MISSING DATA!!1307 1313 !!MISSING DATA!!1314 !!MISSING DATA!!1315 !!MISSING DATA!!1316 !!MISSING DATA!!1320 !!MISSING DATA!!1322 !!MISSING DATA!!1328 !!MISSING DATA!!1331 !!MISSING DATA!!1333 !!MISSING DATA!!1337 !!MISSING DATA!!1338 !!MISSING DATA!!1343 !!MISSING DATA!!1351 !!MISSING DATA!!1352 !!MISSING DATA!!1353 !!MISSING DATA!!1355 1356 !!MISSING DATA!!1359 !!MISSING DATA!!1370 1376 !!MISSING DATA!!1377 !!MISSING DATA!!1379 !!MISSING DATA!!1380 !!MISSING DATA!!1381 !!MISSING DATA!!1386
etc etc etc

I've double-checked that the attachment data dir path is set correctly in Export.php. I must be missing something... I'll continue to troubleshoot.

It is finding some, but most of them fail. Since some are working I would assume the path is correct but most of the actual data files are missing.

Ahh... ok, I didn't realize it was finding some. Turns out I should have just let it run longer - later on it finds about 80% of the files it seems. I guess the "missing data" is from user deletion (to manage attachment storage quotas)?

Thanks!

Hello @Slavik !

I have a couple of questions, can you help me?:

1) Server requirements are for web or MySQL DB server or Both?

2) It states that Importer.php should be run on the same server as MySQL is, but also it instructs to upload importer files to XenForo, so I am not sure if it works with remote server or not.

3) It says there may be some problems if vBulletin tables are modified, and if so, it may be needed to revert them to default structure. I am not sure how severe the problems will be, and, considering the script is running from command-line, how hard will it be to troubleshoot these problems (reverting tables in our board with many customizations is not an option I think).

Thank you!

1) For whatever server you are running them from (usually the web server)
2) Remote MySQL will work fine, however the network latency and speed will slow down the import proccess.
3) Most people will be fine with no issues, however, if an issue is thrown, it will tell you why.

I decided to run this, and I get quite a few errors -
and afterwards I can't quite login to my xenforo system.

It tells me I have 184 posts to import, then I'll reset the password on my account as it doesn't seem to work any other way and get this error
  • The requested user could not be found.
  • Please enter a valid name.
  • Please enter a value for the required field 'user_group_id'.

What errors exactly? Some mysql strict errors might be normal. The current import I am working on gives lots of "invalid integer" errors during the import, but the records are still imported and the values cast as integers such that it's OK to ignore them.

Any errors? Need specifics?

When do you get these errors? During login?

You should examine your user record in the XF database after the import to make sure the username and usergroups came across correctly. And be sure that you setup the user_group_id map in the Export script.
