XF 1.5 Using colours from palette in BBCode

Is there a way to colour a bit of text using one of the colours from the current style palette?
I tried the following without joy:

[COLOR=@primaryDarker]Using style color[/COLOR]

@primaryDarker or {xen:property primaryDarker} are both examples of XenForo template syntax, so they will only be rendered inside templates. It is possible for custom BB codes to return a template, where you could use properties like that, but that requires using the PHP callback option, so will require development knowledge.

You mean I would need to create an add-on? It can't be done solely through ACP and custom BB codes?

You wouldn't necessarily need to create an add-on, but it would require PHP code to be written, so correct, it can't be done solely through the Admin CP.
