XF 1.5 User promotion issue

Hello,

I made some user promotions but when a member reach by ex. 1 message (first message), he is auto. promoted to another group but he stays in the old group and that's an issue because I have issues with several plugins because of this...

How do I solve this please?
Removing each member from old groups will take more than a day of work...

This is by design. For example:

User signs up to the forums and is now a member of the Registered Usergroup. After making "x" posts, the individual is assigned to the Full Member Usergroup. They're still a member of Registered as it will have the most basic permissions given to new registrants. Each additional usergroup a person is promoted to will have just those additional permissions required for that usergroup.
