XF 1.1 Upgrading from 1.1.4 to latest build

Dear all,

after a long time of inactivity I would like to bring my forums to the latest build but would like to ensure the design/templates do not get destroyed.
I still run Xenforo 1.1.4 and would like to know if I can simply run an upgrade to the latest build or do I risk to cause some serious damage?

No "damage" will be caused. At the end of it, you will have a fully functional default installation of XenForo 2.1 with all of your forums, threads and posts.

However, due to the extensive changes to the code base in XF 2.x you will have a default style and none of your existing add-ons will work.

You will have to upgrade or replace the style and upgrade or replace any add-ons for them to become functional again.

Thank you very much but one more question. would it be also possible to install the latest build without upgrading from the old version and afterwards import posts, members, settings to the new fresh installation?

No, that's not possible.

There is no XF1 to XF2 importer.
