XF 2.1 Uninstall / Delete XenForo Importer

Hi,

We successfully completed a forum migration from vBulletin to XenForo 2.1 by using XenForo Importer and some manual process. All data has been properly transferred and the new forum is up and running.
We didn't need to transfer any smilies. We just entered additional text for the old smilies that are not existing in XenForo.
We prepared and successfully covered all redirections by using .htaccess Rewrite Rules.

Basically it looks like that we don't need the importer add-on itself as well as the related database table import_log_vbulletin4.

Although we will keep a backup of the import table, we would like to uninstall and completely remove the XenForo Add-on from our installation to avoid receiving updates and simply for clean-up.

Question: Do we need to keep the XenForo Add-on installed in our XenForo installation for some reason that we possibly don't know?

Thanks.

@DragonByte Tech, thank you for your reply.

if you want to redirect your old URLs via the unofficial 301 redirects add-on.

We are not using an add-on for the redirects. We have completed the permanent redirection with .htaccess only and almost all existing links have been updated in Google index. We will keep .htaccess rules to provide redirect for the permanent links given in other websites or visitor bookmarks.

The importer add-on is no longer required once the import is complete.

Thank you, @Brogan.
Then I assume we can simply use the following procedure:
(just to provide more information for the future visitors who'd be curious about the same subject):
  • Uninstall the add-on in the XenForo admin.
  • Delete the add-on folder in /src/addons/.
  • We will keep the import_table as a backup which keeps ID mapping information.
