Unexpected Sudden High Traffic

I noticed the past 2 weeks unexpected very high visitors traffic (50,000 +) and 90% of them viewing unknown page.


What kind of traffic is this? What can I do to fix this issue?
My forums running normally and there is no high load on my VPS

yeah. my guest count has jumped a lot in recent days too. it usually stays under 100. but right now it's around 500. only way is to check the IPs being used and see what kind of traffic it is. I just checked a few IPs and for some reason most of these are from Australian and New Zealand IPs. If I can find a pattern, I would just block it through CF Firewall.

This has happened to be too, with huge bot traffic from Singapore. I've been attempting to mitigate it by setting Cloudflare rules targeting it.

Known Bots addon here plus Cloudflare WAF to block the heavy offenders has been my way to defend.

I don't have any control panel, I run my VPS with command line, so I made my own modification on the article method to suit my needs.

ModSecurity on my VPS is REALLY busy now hunting those bad bots
