XF 2.1 Undelete Large Thread Timing out

Trying to undelete a large thread (24K posts), and it seems to just hang and never finish. Have also noticed that members post counts seem to jump with each attempt.

Any way to get this done? Is there a SQL code which would better accomplish this using the thread id?

I had the same issue 3 months ago ._.

Go to xf_thread table and search for thread ID (ID of the thread you are trying to undelete) and click on Edit then change discussion_state from deleted to visible & save.

Just mentioning here for the devs, this appears to be an out of memory error.

I ran into this issue as well, and console was noting that the allowed memory size was exhausted. In my case it was already set to 128M, but temporarily bumping it to 1024M succeeded.

I know gigantic threads aren't necessarily officially supported, but I think the UI should be a bit clearer about it. When this did succeed, the loading corner "spinner" eventually just disappeared, without any other feedback. The undelete dialog was still open, and no page refresh. Manually refreshing the page however showed the thread was undeleted.
