Twitter is not dead, it's just X now.

Fresh XF 2.3 installs already use X instead of Twitter, existing installations must be updated.

XF 2.3.6 was released before Skype was shut down, I'd expect that 2.3.7+ will not setup that field for fresh installations - existing installations (including but not limited to xenforo.com) might have to be updated manually.

Thank you for reporting this issue, it has now been resolved. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future XF release (2.3.7).

Change log:

No longer create user fields by default during install.

There may be a delay before changes are rolled out to the XenForo Community.

Potentially the relevancy of Facebook, Twitter (X) and Skype (Teams) is of little importance to a lot of communities these days, especially given alternatives, so we'll just not add them for new installs going forwards.

I've updated our fields to reflect the current names of these services for posterity / example purposes.

We're not going to delete or rename existing user fields so existing communities with these fields can either rename them as we have or remove them.
