Turnkey Mobile Apps for XenForo with Addon/Theme Support, Android & iPhone [Deleted]

Been doing some testing on your example apps and on one I exited the app and came back to it later, most of the screen was blacked out.

Tried multiple things and had to force close it and restart.

Is that common?

No, this is a bug introduced in a recent version that is fixed in the next one, but thank you for reporting it (along with the OS and phone details) :)

Can you please link me to where Google says Adsense is okay in an app which works as a browser? Their Adsense policy FAQ says otherwise:

It does not say otherwise. The terms "iframe webpage" and "app webview" are being mistakenly mixed; these are not related to each other in any way (a webview is not an iframe and vice versa, what you linked to basically says that you can't have ads inside <iframe> tags' pages), it has nothing to do with apps.

What you are looking for is found in the AdMob policies, which was posted earlier in this thread. The policy basically says that if you have AdMob and AdSense in a webview app, you can't display them on the same screen/simultaneously (also probably so people don't skirt the 3-ad-per-page maximum).

The many forums on the app with adsense don't have problems because we are in compliance with the rule, and it is not a difficult one to follow; we can even have AdMob and AdSense in the same app, we just can't show them simultaneously, that is the sole restriction.

It's at best unclear. The Admob site says that all Adsense rules apply. For me, this language from Adsense makes it pretty clear that your app shouldn't show Adsense ads:

"Secondly, you’re not allowed to put ads in your software, e.g., if you control both a website with ads and an app that loads that website, we will take action against it."

I agree that it's unclear with that last quote, and there are lot of conflicting statements. I've gotten in touch with them and will post an update when I receive a reply.

Is it possibly to have granular control over which types of notification trigger push alerts?

I really only want a basic no frills wrapper that allows push.

Both pushover and pushbullet offer user defined criteria for which notifications they recieve.

That's pretty much all I want, integrated into a no frills, bug free, full screen web wrapper that acts exactly like the native safari app

Is that possible with this?

yes but the control is in acp not users, in acp you have full control over what you want to push..and its literally anything that trigger notification in your forum

Hmm, defaults set by an admin are fine, but the users really need to be able to customise that.

Some will only want very few select notifications, some want to get a ping with every like. If it's not user customisable it'll get frustrating for lots of users quite quickly.

it will respect your forum alert settings tho, so if you made it so you dont get alerts for likes, you wont get push notis for it even if its enabled in acp

Yeah, that's still not great, they need to be separate.

I'm happy to have many more notifications when I'm actually on the site.

I want to pick and choose which alerts I feel are important enough to disrupt my day to day activities by sending an alert to my phone.

Here you can see the extent of the PushOver user defined notifications. There's a lot of stuff there I'm happy to get a notification for when I'm visiting the site in a browser, but I don't want to be bombarded with push versions of the same notification.

@Amin Sabet No reply from them yet
@RobinHood In-app alert preferences are part of the 2.1 release (that is, the major one after 2.0), for now (1.x) it's in the ACP
the biggest request i received from my members is a native feed of posts like tapatalk, a way for feed to be posted and can be updated either time based or by swiping the feed down or something (the actual post content feed, not just the "New Posts" feed)

not sure if this is already included in 2.0 or not but thought i would report some feedback to you

It works exactly like this, it does not show just the thread title but also a preview of the last post's content, and it updates every 30 seconds. The screenshot below is from the free version, but the paid version is exactly the same app without ads (sponsored listings, marked "Sp").

@vbresults the biggest concern I have is how the TMA V2.0 will be handling third party add-ons?
Essentially the same as 1.0, we are making key parts of the forum browsing native (alerts, what's new, watched threads, photo posting, and others later) while leaving the rest in the webview, so you continue to retain your add-ons while simultaneously having a more native app experience.
