XF 1.5 Turn off email notifications

Hi,

Can any assist with the following? Trying to stop my forum sending out over 100k emails a month and some getting returned as over quota.

Turn off email notifications to PM's by default for new members
Turn off email notifications for watched threads/new threads etc default for new members

Turn off email notifications to PM's for current members
Turn off email notifications for watched threads/new threads etc for current members

And what happens when they go and turn them right back on. I think you are trying to address this the wrong way. You need to address it by utilizing a solution that will support your outbound email load instead of limiting your users.
That is, if I'm understanding your "over quota" as being you are shipping more emails than your host allows. If you mean that the end users quota's for receiving email get exceeded, wouldn't the built in bounce process monitor of XenForo resolve that?

More then happy for the members that want to receive the email notifications to turn it back on, just want to have it set tt off as default.

Any idea on how to do this?

I'm pretty sure the other states for what you want are in the same table, so just modify that SQL by Brogan to reflect them.

@DaveL did you get it sorted ? I'm looking for a solution to disable the option to allow users to subscribe to a forum by email for an specific node
