XF 2.0 Turn off email alerts globally

I know I can disable the emails from the config.php, but I'm afraid then members won't get activation emails, etc.

So my question is, how can I globally disable the email alerts for myself and my members that are auto sent when someone replies to a topic you either started, or you've replied to.

I did a search on these forums, and google and while I found some answers for 1.5 or 1.4, I wasn't sure they still applied to 2.0 so I wanted to ask.

Members can adjust that setting in their account page: https://xenforo.com/community/account/preferences

For any existing subscribed threads, they just need to unsubscribe from them: https://xenforo.com/community/watched/threads

So instead of disabling it globally, each person would need to go into their account settings?

If not, if I have the disable emails in the config.php does that include emails that would come for password resets, etc?

Yes, that setting in config.php will stop all site email.
