XF 2.1 Turn Email Alerts Off Globally

It would be so useful to turn email alerts off for usergroups or globally.

Our server often gets hammered by them. Asking members to switch to push notifications isn’t working.

Does anyone else have this problem - or a solution?

Wondering about that. Do you know if you can use Gmail for this?

a lot of use third party services like aws ses. is pretty cheap. and should be fine if you are not getting a lot of bounces.

It's always better to have separate IPs for email and website because of blacklisting etc. as well.

Important: Don't turn off email alerts or you will see a drop in activity and visitation.
