Try out the XenForo 2.3.8 Preview!

This is implied in the first post but there will only be one Preview and it will not be updated.

The next release will be 2.3.8 stable.
@Chris D — is there a new flag we should be using for preview builds?
Code:
d = release state
1 → alpha
3 → beta
5 → release candidate
6 → preview (maybe?)
7 → stable

Not really. It's up to you.

Our approach for this is 2030870 (usually indicating stable) is the Preview version ID
2030871 (usually indicating a patch release) is the Stable version ID

Once it's out for everyone else i'll give it ago.
I decided that because my options are to have stable releases only i'll keep it until it's released to everyone.
The last time we had a beta release on our forum it left us with too many errors we didn't know how to fix.

I like the Preview idea. I feel like it's the same as before and this normally would have been the official release, but since there's the odd bug or two after a release (granted, there's always bugs), the now "official" release is the previous patch. The reason this works is many people have stated how they wait a few days after a release to see if there's bugs or a patch. This new way, there's no waiting since the official release will have addressed those bugs. I'll be waiting for the official and will not hesitate, thank you.

"Version 2.3.8 is amazing. I gave it a try even though I have no coding knowledge. Everything seems fine, except for a few minor issues with XF Resource. The tabs like 'Updates' and 'History' are not working when clicked. I’ll be waiting for the official release. Really exciting stuff!"

Did the new editor (Tip Tap or whatever it's called) make it into 2.3.8?
That's for 2.4 per below.

Yeah, I don't get the Haha's on my question. I need the Tip Tap for my programming forums for the code handling.

I have programming (C++ and Python and latex) on my forum as well. Will the Tip Tap handle this natively without third party addon?

my understanding is yes. The prior add-on "code" or whatever it was called is no longer supported, however, I still have it in use and it seems to work. Looking forward to the better editor supposedly coming.

You and me both. Fingers crossed for better native support
