XF 2.0 Timeout during upgrade

I'm getting timeout errors when attempting to upgrade.

Click download and upgrade. Responds with Upgrading... Verifying and copying files.

Then, after a minute or so, I get a timeout error.

I don't know what version I have. I don't know where to find that information.
 
Timeouts when upgrading are typically due to server issues (config, spec, etc.).

What stage exactly does it timeout at?

If it's the file copying then you can try doing a manual upgrade by downloading the archive and uploading the files to the server.

Other than that, your host will have to look into why it's timing out.
 
That doesn't download the files from the customer area for you. It can only trigger an upgrade if the new version has been uploaded manually.
