The Ladies' Lounge

Wow.. haven't we all had a lack of sleep week! lol I am still not nearly caught up on sleep, but last night I think I had 5 hours, which is an improvement!!!

Been working my butt off, trying to finish a whole bunch of IPB Custom Skins and learning/building my first xenforo themes.. mmmm spexy xenforo, but it is SOoooOOOoOoOoooo different to IPB, taking a fair bit to get my head around it. Super super easy to put out a nice looking colour change theme, but doing anything complex is so very different to how I do it in IPB.. but getting there with a little bit of help from friends in high places :D hehehe

How is everyone else doing?
I managed almost 8 so I am doing well.

Color changes are easy but anything more complex takes some doing.

Liz, May I ask... what steps did you take to assure that your header/logo image remained the same and didn't get resized by XF?

For me I went into the header.css template and adjusted the following code accordingly.

Code:
        #logo img
        {
            vertical-align: middle;
            height: 256px;

I have done that before, but it didn't fix the logo's width issue.

Odd. I don't recall making any amendments to the width and I've uploaded various logos with the same height but differing in widths and it still retained the dimensions that I saved out in photoshop.

have you defined a width by any chance peggy? If so try removing it you probably haven't just thinking what that issue is.

No I haven't defined a width. I was wondering if I was supposed to. I haven't had much time to dig into this what with moderating XF, moving, getting my son back to school, going to his meetings and therapies, etc. ugh.

Ok so you made that ammendment in the header.css. But did you change the height also in Style properties/header and navigation where it calls for header height?

I did, Peggy. Along with defining the height in the header.css. But those were the only steps I took.

yeah I have that set to 256px for the height and in the template it shows as follows My logo is 650px in width by 256px in height:

Code:
#logo img {
height:256px;
padding-bottom:35px;
vertical-align:middle;
}

ok that's where I went wrong. I didn't use the code you used above Shelley. Mine is missing the padding. Odd that that would make a difference but it did.

Thanks alot!

OMG, totally lost track and don't know why I wasn't seeing alerts for this thread as I have it set to 'watched' but whatever...

We've been working hard on the kitchen and are finally fully out of the deconstruction phase and moving in to the quickly moving forward phase. Yesterday we did half the lighting, including adapting a wall sconce to be a pendant fixture on a track (yay, me!) and we finished what we could of lighting this morning. Then we cleaned up a bit and moved in to flooring. Tomorrow will be a day of errands and then we'll finish flooring and get on to cabinets. woot!

Oh, almost forgot! We bought a new range with an induction burner! woo-hoo! 1 induction, 3 standard electric on a ceramic top with a convection range and a warming drawer! So excited! Need suggestions for the first meal, though maybe that's better generated by the family? LOL

Going to bed, it's late...wonder if there's time for sex? ;)

Sorry for the total non-sequitor!

Susan

Sounds like you have made considerable progress.

LOVE the new range.

Kitchen sounds amazing Gofd

I just found a perfect stained glass window on ebay right size right colours YAY! cross fingers.
Also got a coder working on my crucial mod so I should be able to go live on XF quite soon. My licences are lying asleep poor babies.

Redoing the websites in wordpress too pretty good program. Support not as good as here (or VB) the community I mean. Most of the add-ons are old and out of date. But still quite good. Means I can update static pages in WYSWYG and the menus automaticalluy7 update on new pages too. Worth it just for that.

Off for a NAP
I love naps. Huge oak bed cats and husband, Delicious.

Shanj, I love naps too...I usually have a bed full of kitties as well. One likes to sleep right across my tummy...having to figure out how to break him of that because in another month, my tummy will be off limits to kitties for awhile.

Sounds like the kitchen reno is well under control! Good stuff :D

Hey Shanj! Good Luck on the window! Wonderful on the site build! My poor licenses are snooozing for now too... but hopefully not for long ;)

Hi Liz :D

Ahhh Naps, very nice, except my Jack Russell girlie actually likes to sleep on top of me, and she is not exactly a light weight >_< Anyone else get grumpy if they sleep too long during the day?

Well then Goddess help me if I ever have to have surgery on my tum as we have six Cat friends - all large solid ladies Siberian or Maine. Usually I have three on me in bed .... this is why I had a custom bed built 6.5ft long 6ft wide because with a tall husband, a massive herculean son, myself a magnificent size, and six Cats we need a lot of room for family snuggles.
